Roleplay
The Beginning
For moons, the history of the national park was written by a single Tribe. But as the mountains grew cold and the valleys called, the kin split. Creating two powerful rivals defined by the ground they tread and the stars they follow. Though the prey grows thin in every dawning season.
The Great Divide
From the Tribe came two clans. Summitclan, who remained in the high, unchanging peaks. They are traditionalists, fiercely loyal to the old ways and deeply connected to StarClan. To them, the heavens are a guiding light. And Valleyclan, founded by Valleystar, who descended into the lush forest below to chase after more plentiful prey, easier to access water, and an overall less environmentally cruel way of life.
The Colony Rises
Long after the tribe split into the two clans, Not so far from the clan's territories, a house lay in the fields. An old twoleg, with little sense and memories. Growing loneliness encouraged the twoleg to begin buying and adopting cats. However, not many moons after the two-leg began, it died. The cats collected over moons were now trapped within and left without care. Over time, ranks and duties were given to those within, and 50 moons later, a leader emerged known as Cirrus.
Valleyclan's Fire and the Rise of Singeclan
Many moons after The Great Divide, lightning struck the earth, catching shrubbery and foliage ablaze. Valleyclan's territory came alive with hot flames and unbreathable smoke, catching the clan off guard and forcing them to quickly evacuate. Many died, and numerous cats were burned. Some beyond recognition. They are hardened survivors who feel betrayed by the ancestors who let their world burn. As a result of the fire, the clan re-named themselves Singeclan and appointed a young cat known as Magnoliapetal as leader. At first, they were uncertain if they had been abandoned or if something had blocked Starclan from intervening. However, they now know that Starclan witnessed the fire and had abandoned them without remorse.
Though the two Great Clans are renowned for their strength, their vast territories are no longer enough to keep the peace. The Colony’s expansion is a spark near a powder keg.
Ancient omens are beginning to bleed into the horizon, whispering of a coming darkness. As tensions rise, the cats of the national park face a final choice: Will a total war erupt and extinguish the life of every Clan, or can they forge a new path together, find prey for old and young? The territory is vast. Perhaps there is room for three, or perhaps there is room for none.

The First Gathering Summary
Hilltumble's Death
Needle's Death
The Rockfall
Events took place primarily at The Waterfall
⟢ Magnoliastar receives her 9 lives, and receives an eerie omen from their ancestors.⟢ SummitClan and Singeclan both prepare to face each other under the truce.⟢ During the first half of the gathering, cats meet - Singeclan bears their burns and scars from the fire that wreaked havoc on their territory. Cats commune.⟢ Alpinestar and Magnoliastar converse together, announcing new apprentices and new roles throughout Singeclan. Though the conversation became sour almost immediately due to Alpinestar’s consistent remarks about the weakened state of Singeclan. Magnoliastar defends her clan, however, but was eventually rudely interrupted by Cirrus - the colony leader.⟢ The colony arrives and immediately begins to intrude on the clans, and many conversations are almost turned into a full-blown scuffle.⟢ Cirrus demands territory, attempting to reason with Alpinestar and sympathising with Magnoliastar. Both were unwilling to give territory at first, despite their very differing circumstances.⟢ After some debate, some words here and there, Alpinestar gives Cirrus the eagle's lookout as their own territory.⟢ Just before that, though, all healers throughout the waterfall grounds began to have seizures like no other - agonising pain shooting through them all, causing immediate disruption and panic throughout the cats.⟢ Cirrus declares the end of the gathering, to which all three leaders go to tend to their respective cats in need - many are dragged home quickly, given herbs to soothe their pain.⟢ During that journey home, Summitclan was faced with Alpinestar losing another life, the circumstances for which seem unclear, but still caused a lot of distress amongst the cats.⟢ On the other side, however, Wolfgaze stayed behind to show Cirrus and the Colony Cats their new territory, fearful of the threats it held. To summarise this venture, the cats began to be stalked by an eagle - the giant bird eventually picked its prey resulting in the death of Orbit, a small ex-summitclan cat turned Colony dweller. He was only young; he had been taken by the talons far too quickly. This then caused the Colony to retreat back to their twoleg camp, to where they now converse about the events that occurred.⟢ For Singeclan, the trek home was long and daunting, dragging the cats in agonising pain back to camp as quickly as possible.⟢ The cats injured were then laid to rest in the healer’s den, under constant surveillance- requested by Magnoliastar.⟢ Eventually, Magnoliastar and her deputy, Sablestorm, go off to have a talk about the events that have occurred and how to move forward.
Events took place primarily at The Tar Seeps and The Smoke Stump
⟢ Magnoliastar met with Hilltumble in the Healer's Dugout, wishing to speak with him.⟢ The two cats decide to go to the Tar Seeps to have a private discussion about an argument they had prior. Hilltumble had wanted to journey to Summitclan's camp to speak with them, but Magnoliastar forbade it, as it would be too dangerous.⟢ Out of frustration and anger, Hilltumble swipes at Magnolia's ear; a claw gets snagged inside the flesh and ripped from Hilltumble's paw. He steps back in terror of what he has done, crying and apologizing for the wound. Not paying attention to his paws, Hilltumble steps into the tar seeps.⟢ Magnoliastar attempts to pull him out several ways, but due to the Healer struggling too much, he sinks faster. Telling Magnoliastar to let Harmonykit know he loves her, he is pulled underneath the tar.⟢ Cricketswarm finds Magnoliastar at the tar's edge, and assists her back to Singeclan's camp.⟢ When the news is broken to the clan, it is pouring rain. Many cats mourn Hilltumble. Gloamingmoth, the remaining healer, enters the clearing and barely catches the news. She is broken and requires assistance to return to her den as she is unable to stand.
Events took place primarily at Eagle's Lookout and Snow-Drenched Forest
⟢ After the sickness began to spread, Summitclan grew desperate for fresh prey. A small patrol consisting of Hounddog, Mossfade, and Briarpath travelled into Eagle's Lookout, a part of the territory that Summitclan had given to The Colony. The clan cats had assumed it was abandoned, only to find Needle, a Colony cat, hunting in the area alone.⟢ The clan cats attempted to scare the molly off, telling Needle about the eagles that frequented the area. But the Colony cat was unafraid, and all the same, desperate for fresh prey. Needle stayed regardless of their threats, which greatly angered Briarpath.⟢ The tom charged towards Needle, harming the molly in the process. The first few moments of the conflict are standard, but as it grows longer, things get out of hand. Briarpath seems to have the consideration of another cat becoming their prey, but does not act upon the thought quite yet. Hounddog, a Summitclan Medicine cat, is attacked by Needle after a brief separation.⟢ Mossfade breaks out of her momentary stun and throws herself into the fray. She tackles Needle off of Hounddog, and with a swift swipe of her claws down the other's belly, Needle is fatally harmed.⟢ Needle attempts to flee down the mountain to return to camp, and Briarpath begins to follow to take action on the thought he had prior, but is stopped due to Hounddog knowing what the tom was considering.⟢ Needle's corpse is later found in the Snow-drenched forest by a small patrol consisting of Wrenpounce, Mossfade, Goosepaw, Hawkpaw, and Flutterpaw. The young cat had bled out from the wounds inflicted on her by Mossfade. Mossfade breaks down, unable to cope with the grief.⟢ Wrenpounce buries Needle at Summitclan's burial ground, honoring the young cat.

Wisdom, History, Religion
The wind whips at your face, lashing your fur as you squint, trying to find a path through the blinding snow. This high up, the air feels thin; your lungs burn with every breath until, finally, you find safety. The mouth of a looming cave swallows you whole as you pad inside. As your eyes adjust to the dim light, you meet the gazes of the Summitclan cats, who watch you with their chins held high.
SummitClan is a clan born into the very mountain it calls home. As the oldest standing Clan in the territory, they are renowned for their formality and strict routines. Cats who call SummitClan home typically possess a stern mindset: life is a duty, and one’s primary purpose is to worship the ancestors. They have decorated their cavern walls with paintings and drawings of stories from long ago, preferring to remain isolated from the squabbling that occurs in the lands below. However, they are not the only ones who claim the peak. Predators and harsh weather often grip the mountain, serving as the leading cause of casualties. Yet, being so entrenched in their ways, the question remains: are they willing to move? Will they ever search for new lands, or finally lend a paw to those living beneath them?
Common prey ⟢ Pika, marmot, mountain goat kid, ptarmigan, alpine chipmunk, snowshoe hare, rosy-finch, bighorn sheep lamb, nutcracker, vole, yellow-bellied marmot, golden-mantled ground squirrel.
Predators ⟢ Golden eagle, mountain lion, snow leopard, wolverine, grey wolf, grizzly bear, gyrfalcon, lynx, peregrine falcon.

Resourceful, cunning, desperate
You enter a large twoleg den larger than any mountain ash, the scent of decay and rot floods your senses like a suffocating mudslide. Sickly eyes peek out from beneath towers of twoleg trash, bared teeth glint in the dusty light that threatens to be snuffed out at any moment by the moldy mounds. Even without the sight of bristled fur and voices strong enough to snarl, you can feel the hate and hostility from each and every Colony cat.
The Colony is a group of cats that come from a hoarder's home. They've lived generations in this large house, protecting and caring for each other. The neglect they faced from their now-deceased owner has enforced these cats' bonds with each other.Though a majority of cats are sick, queens, or elders, these cats are desperate for territory to call their own. A tom that has sworn to become their savior, Cirrus, has taken the role of an odd sort of leader (or as he calls himself: Monarch.) He feeds, protects, and orders the Colony cats.Recently, Cirrus has begun to move the Colony into unclaimed land near the Clans, though due to the sheer numbers and starvation of his companions, they need more territory. Cirrus knows the Clans have plenty, and they have started to hunt on both Summitclan and Singeclan territories.

KIT ⟢ 1/9
⤷ The youth of the colony. Without the apprentice role, kits will join the dweller rank once they are considered ready enough. For now, they can focus on playing with old kittypet toys left around the rusty two-leg home.
Iron-willed, new beginnings, strength
You find yourself walking through a once beautiful, lush forest, now laid in ash and debris. The smell of smoke still fresh on the air, along with the thick scent of death. Your paws move themselves as you move through the territory, hearing cats speaking up ahead. You find the open camp clearing, like a gashed wound in the center of all the chaos, and are greeted by not so kind faces. You can tell these cats have and are suffering, if their territory has not told that enough.
Singeclan is the new name these cats have taken up after a very recent forest fire. They have lost many of their loved ones, a clan born from tragedy, it seems. Even so, they believe they can rise from the ashes of their past and become even stronger than they were before, when they held the old name of Valleyclan. With the fire, new issues arose as well, though. Prey is now very little, even as the forest tries to come back to the way it was. Illness from the smoke has made its way into the camp, running their healers half to death. These cats are tired, grief-stricken, and some even sickly. They hold a new leader, healers say she was part of an omen, from an even greater being. Their faith in Starclan has faltered, so they hold a different faith that their forest will return. They hold faith that this suffering is not all for nothing.

Appearance
We go by the book's rule, which means if you wouldn't find it in the books/fanart made of the books designs, the oc wouldn't be allowed here! This can mean that while you cannot be neon blue, you can have a very blue-toned palette, like Bluestar. Unrealistic genetic patterns, a mix of eye colours, etc., are all fine! If your character has a physical disability, please make sure to do research to properly handle the disability.Accessories are also permitted if they are both nature-themed or kitty-pet related, if your oc has come into contact with two-legs! If its an item a cat can find and have, it's allowed.
Names
Again, anything that'll go in the books works! Please use a clan name for Summitclan, no matter the backstory, as the clan's ways do not allow former kittypet/loner names, and neither has a clan name without being an ex-clan cat for a colony cat!
Backstories
Go crazy! Write whatever you want, make sure that all subjects of abuse or any form of disability are handled correctly, and that it makes sense within the setting. Singeclan has only recently become Singeclan, so if your Singeclan oc has been inside the clan, they would have witnessed it! Unless, of course, they were just born moments after the blaze.
Abilities
We have a stat system to make sure encounters are fair. Please keep in mind that you cannot have powers! Yet your oc may have talents that allow them to stand out from the rest. Some may have a better memory, some may track prey better, and some cats may even have a talent for predicting the weather. Make sure not to include things in your submission like 'My oc is the strongest in the territory' or 'My oc is the smartest out of EVERYONE'.
Antagonist Characters
Feel free to play the villain, if you wish to have a part in the story as a bad guy there's no shame in that! Make sure to ask the staff before you do anything that could affect the plot line, so we can help your plot point and keep it realistic, like a leader finding out or a rumour spreading around the clan!No matter how 'evil' the oc is, you may not be
Base stat amounts, HP and AC
Differing ages and roles have different amounts of base stats. This is further explained in Stat System.Kits (0-6 Moons) start with 0, as if it’s not common sense - a newborn baby won’t be doing much of anything that will warrant a roll.Apprentices (7-12/13 Moons) get 30 points, which can be allocated in any stat deemed appropriate by the user.Medicine cat and Healer Apprentices (7-12/15 Moons) get 35 points, with a required 5 of said points going to the spirit stat. All remaining stats can be allocated to any stat deemed appropriate to the user.Warriors/Adult Cats (14+ Moons) get a total of 60 maximum points, which, as users develop their characters through roleplay, such as training or during events, can receive another 10 points to boost certain stats.Medicine Cats and Healers (14+ Moons) get a total of 70 maximum points, with a required 10 of said 70 going to the Spirit stat. They may also earn another 10 points to boost certain stats. You may only have a maximum amount of 50 in one stat, for a modifier of +5. It cannot be increased past this point, even if a training session has occurred.
To get your HP stat, you will use the following formula.

10 (Base HP) + 2 (Roll) + 18 (Roll) + 4 (Str) + 10 (Agil)
To get your AC stat, you will use the following formula.

Introduction to the system
The stat system is made to keep things fair and interesting.Actions such as Hunting, Tracking, Persuasion, Attacking, Dodging, and more, will be rolled for with a D20 die. If you are unsure of how something works or what you would need to roll, please ask a staff member.
Base stat amounts
The amount of base stats a character will have is primarily based on their age, with the exception of Medicine Cats, Healers and their apprentices.Kits (0-6 Moons) start with 0, as if it’s not common sense - a newborn baby won’t be doing much of anything that will warrant a roll.Apprentices (7-12/13 Moons) get 30 points, which can be allocated in any stat deemed appropriate by the user.Medicine cat and Healer Apprentices (7-12/15 Moons) get 35 points, with a required 5 of said points going to the spirit stat. They may also earn another 10 points to boost certain stats.
How do the stats work?
There are two kinds of measurement for stats. There are the Ability scores, which are the raw numerical attributes of a stat, and the Modifiers, which are the derived bonuses or penalties that are added to or negated from dice rolls to either add a bonus to an action that would be considered a strength or take away from a roll to indicate a weakness. Our stat system works on a 10:1 ratio. Meaning that every 10 points put into a stat is equal to a +1 modifier.Example:
If someone put 35 points into strength, then their modifier would be a +3. You can put as many stat points in any of the 4 stats (If curious about the SPIRIT stat, scroll down) as long as it is equal to 60!They can be even or uneven; you can even have 0 in a stat, because all that means is that when you roll that stat, it’s what’s called a “flat roll,” where you just go based upon the number rolled, and that’s the total. You may only have a maximum amount of 50 in one stat, for a modifier of +5. It cannot be increased past this point, even if a training session has occurred.
How do the modifiers work with the die?
These modifiers are essentially how good your character is at using that skill. A good fighter may have high strength but low intellect, and a healer may have high intellect and wisdom. If you are attacking, you will use your strength modifier combined with the roll of a D20 die. Depending on what you get, it will tell you if your character lands their attack at all, and if it was a standard attack, or if it was a critical hit (A Natural 20).What dice we roll with is a D20, which is a 20-sided die, and the range of success/ failure is the same for everyone, to ensure things are fair.We have a bot in the server named “Avrae” which is the bot that will be used for rolling these dice. The base command is “!roll (1d20) + [modifier]”. The brackets are needed for the 1d20, not the modifier. This will cause the bit to roll a number between 1-20 and automatically add your modifier. If you have no modifier, you can put +0 or just !roll (1d20).There are different types of dice you can roll (D4, D6, D8, D10 and a D12), but the one to remember is a D20 for mostly anything.
What are the stats?
The stats that everyone has access to are the following: Strength, Agility, Wisdom, and Intellect. To break them down further;Strength will be used when your character attacks something, be it another player, prey, etc. Or maybe just something to determine lifting up rocks off of a cat, or any other action that would require a fair amount of strength or physical strain.Agility can be used for hunting (Strength and Agility can be up to a player's discretion when hunting - just to clarify), but it can also be used for obvious situations like getting chased, maybe to determine the outcome of getting away or getting caught. It can also be used to determine how efficiently and quickly your cat may complete tasks. As an example, an apprentice picking ticks and other mess out of an elder’s fur, or running errands. It ranges, but those are just some specific examples.Wisdom is a little trickier because you may confuse it with intellect. The way I imagine it, Wisdom is experience and knowledge; it’s what your character knows based on their past experiences, and it’s almost like what most call “street-smarts” - so the charisma a character may require to smooth-talk a high-tense situation, persuading others, or getting away with lying. It’s recommended for Mediators to have a lot of points in this stat.Intellect is the skills that you pick up from a mentor or others, it’s similar to general knowledge - getting cats to collect herbs or how to tell the difference between them - it can also be applied to a roll to understand techniques a mentor may teach an apprentice. To not confuse it with wisdom, I call it “school-smarts,” which should hopefully offer enough of a difference.
What about Spirit?
Spirit is a stat only for Healers, Medicine Cats, Healer or Medicine Cat Apprentices, and Leaders. When a cat becomes a leader, they instantly gain 10 Points put into SPIRIT. Healers are required to have at least 10 points in their SPIRIT stat, as it is a direct link to their Ancestors. Healer Apprentices are required to have around 5 points as a minimum. This is a stat that will be rolled for trying to understand omens or signs that these cats could receive or how well a message can be given to them; it’s essentially anything to do with Starclan and their ancestors.
Training Sessions
You may earn a total of 10 bonus stat points by roleplaying a detailed training session. Each stat has multiple ways to train, so it is up to the player how they want to. The training itself must tie into the stat you're putting the point into somehow. Testing new tactics while hunting for Intellect. Sparring to train your strength. Etc.Once your training is done, please submit it in the extra submissions channel. Once it is approved, you may put it into your characters stat pool.
Health Points and Armor Class
Health Points
Your HP (Health Points) are calculated by using the following formula.10 (Base HP) + (D20 roll) + (D20 roll) + Strength STAT + Agility STATEX: Gloamingmoth's HP
10 (Base HP) + 2 (Roll) + 18 (Roll) + 4 (Str) + 10 (Agil)You may be worried about not giving your cat stats in strength or agility, which is why there is a base starting HP of 10, and even if you rolled two 1s with your D20s, that’s still 12 Hit points at its worst, which you can reroll by using the item in the shop. It is low, yes, but you can always increase it via roleplay and through events, too.
Armor Class
Armour Class (AC), in simple terms, is what decides if your character gets hit or not. It applies to all characters. This way, battling or sparring is fair, with nobody “always dodging” or “always hitting” the rolls control the way it flows! To calculate AC, it depends on your cat’s age.Kits (0-6 Moons) have an AC of 5 with no added modifiers. They are fairly easy to hit and are very unlikely to dodge an attack from anyone.Apprentices or cats of the same age (7-12/13 Moons) have a base AC of 7 + their wisdom modifier.Warriors/Adult Cats (14+ Moons) have a base AC of 12 + their wisdom modifier. To get your AC stat, you will use the following formula.
x (Base for character's age) + Wisdom MODIFIEREX: Gloamingmoth's AC
12 (Base Adult) + 1 (Wis Mod)
What are Death Saving Throws?
Death Saving Throws are arguably the most confusing thing to roll for.HP (Hit Points) is the total amount of health your character has. When it reaches 0, you will not die immediately, but you will be asked to roll what is called a “Death Saving Throw.”What that does is essentially decide if your character permanently dies or not. When your character reaches 0, ping an owner/moderator, and we will ask you to make the rolls in a ticket. A death saving throw has no added bonuses and is entirely based on luck. You have to roll an 11-19 3 times for your character to stabilise, and if you roll a 2-10 3 times, your character will be permanently killed. Now there are two numbers that haven’t been mentioned, that being both a 1 or a 20. If you roll a Natural 20, you get two out of three rolls automatically succeeded, meaning that you’d only have to roll an 11+ to stabilise yourself. On the other hand, if you roll a Natural 1, you get two automatic failures and would then only have to roll a 9 and below once more for your character to die.Whichever side you complete first, either three successes or three failures, determines if your character lives. Now, there are ways to intervene - because putting your character’s life in the hands of luck can be quite unfair, so other characters could make rolls to help you or heal you - these would have to be situation-based, and a moderator can always provide further classification.
Attacking
Attacking is always quite subjective in roleplay, but it is classed as any violent action that your cat makes against another cat or general target, as an example you could attack an opposing clan cat, in which you are required to roll BEFORE you make the attack. (You can allude to a buildup to the attack, but the resulting response will be determined by the rolls - aka if it landed or not - and the context will be up to the recipient with how the next steps play out.) Obviously, we can’t account for all the ways a conflict may turn out, but we can set rules that make it fair. But what do you actually roll for an attack? Well, you roll a D20 + your character's Strength or Agility modifier. Up to you what you prefer to add, and that will determine the success or failure of the attack - but to calculate the damage the target will take is based on your strength stat as a whole.
The maximum number you can have in any Stat is 50, as established before, and the level of dice you roll for a successful attack scales similarly on the same 1:10 ratio.Essentially, If you have a;
+0, You roll 1 D4.
+1, You roll 2 D4.
+2, You roll 1 D6+2.
+3, You roll 1 D8+2.
+4, You roll 1 D10+2.
+5, You roll 1 D12+2.With all these attacks, you also add your strength modifier to the total damage. As an example, if Sablestorm were to attack a cat and land a hit, she has a 30 in strength, giving her a +3, hence I would roll 1 D8+2,
resulting in... let’s say an 8 total (6+2) and then I would add her +3, meaning she did a total of 11 damage to that cat. In which the user would take away from their character's amount of HP.
Sparring
Sparring works similarly, using the same damage system - except you can take your total amount of HP and use Temporary HP, which is almost like a different version of HP - Using temporary HP is really simple, it’s just a separate amount of HP that’s the exact same as your actual HP, just halved, but it’s a different type that you can take away from when you roll attacks and do “damage”, so when you’re sparring you don’t confuse this damage as real damage and take it away from your actual HP - when either opponent’s temporary HP runs out entirely - that concludes the sparring match. To better visualise it; SableStorm’s HP is 78 Total, if I halve that - Her temporary HP would be 39.
Hunting and More
~Hunting is fairly simple, to find prey; you must roll a Perception Check, which is a D20 + your wisdom modifier. The range of successibility is this; bare in mind these are based on the TOTAL amount you roll, not just what you get on a D201-5 ⟢ You find no trace or scent of anything. Better to look somewhere or try again later.
6-10 ⟢ maybe one piece of prey? Might be hard to find on its own.
11-15 ⟢ A fair amount of scents to follow, not entirely clear what they are, but you could catch a decent amount.
16-19 ⟢ There’s definitely a lot of prey here; you see and smell a lot that should be easy to catch.
Natural 20 ⟢ You might as well’ve walked in on a bunny burrow. Now that you’ve actually found prey, it’s time to catch it.
To catch prey, you roll what we’ll call a Hunting Check - which is a D20 + your Strength OR Agility modifier. The successes are the same,1-5 ⟢ Fail
6-10 ⟢ Poor Performance but Successful.
11-15 ⟢ Average Performance.
16-19 ⟢ Pretty good to almost flawless Success.
Natural 20 ⟢ Flawless SuccessThe scale above can be used for many things, such as simple Perception checks, convincing a character, Stealth, Lying, and more.
